NEW EDITION including new sections on Antimicrobial stewardship, Respiratory illnesses, information on Transmission based precautions and a change to Viral gastroenteritis ‘Encourage the service user to remain at home (isolation) until they are symptom free for 72 hours’ which was previously 48 hours.
An educational Workbook has been produced specially for staff providing Domiciliary Care staff to help with CQC registration requirements and achieve compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008: code of practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.
The Workbook is suitable for a wide range of staff providing care at home to service users, such as domiciliary and rehabilitation teams who undertake personal care or assist with daily living activities. It is designed for all levels of staff and each member of staff should receive their own copy to be worked through at their own pace.
- Size: A5 colour 72 page booklet
- Target: For use in General Practice
- Purchase: Available to purchase as per the following sliding scale
Quantity | 10-15 | 16-30 | 31-45 | 46-60 | 61+ |

- After 12 months from your original order for the Workbook for Domiciliary Care staff, we will contact you to offer you the option to purchase a new set of questions for staff to use with their original Workbook. This is helping to provide a cost effective means of ensuring staff receive their annual IPC training for a second year. The cost for this new set of questions would be £1.00 per member of staff and you would receive a new Question sheet, Answer sheet (for managers) and Certificate. These would all be sent via e-mail.
The Workbook provides:
- National guidance
- Evidence-based information
- 19 topics including the Standard infection control precautions, Antimicrobial stewardship, Specimen collection, Urinary catheter care, UTI prevention, clostridioides difficile, MRGNB including CPE, MRSA, Respiratory illnesses and Viral gastroenteritis/Norovirus
- Each topic includes a ‘Test your knowledge’ section
- When 100% IPC knowledge has been achieved, managers sign the ‘Certificate of completion’ at the end of the Workbook, providing evidence for CQC registration requirements
- The Workbook should be kept by the member of staff as part of their portfolio of evidence of learning and can be used as a reference guide for day-to-day working.
The Workbooks are brilliant resources and staff are lucky you are there to support them. Completion of the workbook would be an ideal way for Domiciliary Care agencies and Care Home owners to demonstrate staff training to the CQC
