About Us

We are a dynamic and innovative NHS Infection Prevention and Control team with vast experience of working with staff in the health and social care sector. We can support your organisation to ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care 2008 and CQC compliance.

Our aim is to promote evidence based practice and reduce the risk of healthcare associated infection.

Key services

In addition to covering our local area of North Yorkshire and York, our team offers it services nationally. For our key services, please refer to Section 1 for North Yorkshire and York and Section 2 for other geographic areas.

Section 1 (North Yorkshire and York only)

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust community staff and the wider community, e.g., GP and dental practices, care homes, domiciliary care, local authorities and armed forces, etc.

  • IPC advice during office hours.
  • Support in compliance with Care Quality Commission and Department of Health directives/guidance.
  • Provision of IPC education/training sessions.
  • Preventing Infection Workbooks and further resources.
  • IPC advice relating to the care and treatment of individual service users.
  • IPC advice relating to outbreak prevention and management.
  • IPC policies, guidance and audits.

Section 2 (other geographic areas)

Most Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) services can be individually tailored to meet your needs.

  • Support in compliance with Care Quality Commission and Department of Health directives/guidance.
    • Provision of IPC education/face to face training sessions, advice and consultancy.
    • Preventing Infection Workbooks.
    • IPC resources, e.g., Urinary Catheter Passport, outbreak prevention and management.
    • IPC policies, guidance and audits.
